Media strengthening

With the widening of the democratic space, the demand by the citizenry for information about the activities and operations of the government increases. Media can play a significant role in informing the public on issues of governance, human rights, democracy and arming the citizenry with the requisite information for participation in governance. In order to be effective in this role, they require strong capacity in terms of content on key issues, means to verify data, and credibility as advocates for national interests.
