TRAINING OF WOMEN ASPIRANTS GETS MEDIA ATTENTION
Media Focus on Africa in collaboration with FIDA Kenya has conducted 4 trainings for women Member of County Assembly, popularly known as MCA, and gubernatorial aspirants in the last 2 months. The trainings focused on leadership qualities, media relations, campaign branding, legal requirements for the positions plus more. The first held on 17th and 18th September in Eldoret town brought together Nandi, Trans-Nzoia and West-Pokot Counties aspirants. The Second held on 29th and 30th September in Nakuru town brought together Nyandarua, Kajiado and Narok Counties Aspirants. Kisumu and Mombasa aspirants were trained in their counties on 17th and 18th October and 24th and 25th October respectively.
The trainings received a lot of media attention which shows how important the issue of women leadership is to Kenyans, thus validating the support MFA is giving to the women as equally important.
