Paul Van Leeuwen, CEO/CFO: Paul has worked with Media Focus on Africa for nearly a decade, starting out as director.  He works as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of the organization. Paul has a wealth of experience in film production and accounting in both Africa and Europe.

Laurence Caron, Head of Programmes: Laurence joined MFA in 2016 with more than eight years global experience working as a programme manager, social researcher and counsellor in the sector of child rights/protection among others. She Coordinates and supervises financial and programmatic implementation of projects for both the MFA Kenya and MFA Uganda offices.

Mburugu Gikunda, MFA Board Member/executive producer:   Mburugu has extensive experience in the Kenyan media industry. He was head of production at KTN, one of Kenyans leading television stations, worked for Kiss Television and Citizen Television. He is the executive producer of The Team and supervises all other media productions of MFA.

Harrison Manga, Projects Manager: Harrison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, having specialized in Leadership and Governance. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in Publicy Policy at Kenyatta University. Since joining MFA in August 2012, He has managed many multi-media programmes in Kenya and has coordinated all activities under these projects. He has a broad network in Kenya and has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of governance, peace building, communications and human rights.

Jan Ajwang, Project Manager: Jan holds a masters in International Public Relations and Global Communication Management. She has been a journalist and a public relations specialist for many years. In 2010, Jan worked with MFA in Tanzania and later joined the Uganda office in 2015. She has led a mulit-media project including the production of a TV/radio series – Yat Madit – aiming at raising the voice of people living in North and Northeast Uganda, including Karamoja region. She is now facilitating community dialogues in Karamoja in order to build bridges between the communities as well as managing other project activities in the Uganda office.

Frenny Jowi, program officer: Frenny joined MFA in 2016 to take a lead role in developing radio programmes that promote women leadership, facilitate, networking and training for journalists effectively cover Women’s Rights. Frenny gained experience in producing and reporting stories across East, Central and the Horn of Africa while working for the BBC World Service in Kenya and the United Kingdom for over 4 years. In 2014, she received a Media Council of Kenya’s Annual Journalism Excellence Awards in recognition of her work.  She has a BA in media studies from the University of Nairobi.

Ruth Nagudi, Project Officer: She holds a Bachelor's degree in Library and Information science, having specialised in information management. Her first years of work experience were in information management which included assisting in designing work plans, communication plans, records management, identification and requisition information material of and training interns. She then moved to customer care with a telecommunications company where she solved customer problems and managed their expectations. Ruth joined MFA towards the end of 2015 as a projector office. Among other things she coordinates project activities, facilitates communication between MFA, partners and other stakeholders involved in project implementation. She also performs admin duties for the Uganda office.

Dominic Mutute, Finance and Administrative Officer:  Dominic is in charge of office and projects administration, including book keeping, preparing project budgets, reports, drafting contracts, facilitating payments and day to day operations of the Nairobi office.  He has also been assisting the Uganda office with administrative and financial work since 2014. He is a trained accountant and is currently furthering his studies in accounting.  Dominic is the longest serving member of MFA having joined the organization in 2006.

Simon Gicia, Communications Officer:  Simon joined MFA in July 2011 as a Content and Communications intern in charge of managing external communications that include newsletters, websites, social networking platforms and publicity. Apart from his communication duties, he also assists in coordinating project logistical needs.  Simon holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies, Development Communication major, from the University of Nairobi.

Virginia Wanjiku Njoki, Office Assistant:  Virginia joined MFA in Sep 2014 as general office assistant in-charge of office cleaning and errands. She works closely with all staff to ensure they get the assistance they need in carrying out their duties.  Ms Virginia has previous work experience in the same job.
