Radio

Radio has by far the greatest reach of all media in Africa. Radio not only has a huge listener ship, another advantage is that radio stations are often broadcasting in the local languages and therefore able to reach a very particular group of listeners in their own language. MFA is producing spots, radio documentaries, talk shows with call-in session and drama series not only for national radio stations, but also for vernacular and community radio stations that broadcast in the local languages.

We worked closely with various radio stations to produce and air in total, 70 shows.

MFA produced a series of radio programmes with Ghetto Radio and girls from the slums of Kibera, Mathare and Mukuru.

Our leadership programme for 2012 will consist of over 80 radio programmes to air on national and local radio in 4 local languages and Swahili.

To reach the audiences in the rural areas, The Team Season 1 and 2 were translated in three local languages (Kikuyu, Dholuo, Kalenjin) and in Swahili.

For the voter mobilization campaign (Uganda) a wide range of radio formats were produced; such as adverts to educate about the concerns, mini-soaps for entertainment and interes

MFA worked closely with 11 national and vernacular stations to produce theme-based interviews and debates on the 2007 elections.
